Privacy Policy

RideDosth is committed to protecting customers' privacy and ensuring a transparent experience as an interstate travel aggregator. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our platform to facilitate intercity bookings between passengers and cab drivers. 1. Information We Collect To provide a seamless interstate travel experience, we collect information from two primary groups: • Passengers: We collect your name, contact details (email and phone number), pickup/drop-off locations, and payment information. We also collect travel preferences to improve your booking experience. • Cab Drivers: We collect your name, contact information, vehicle details, driver’s license information, and real-time GPS location data to facilitate trip matching and safety monitoring. • Usage Data: We automatically collect technical data such as IP addresses, device types, and app usage patterns to optimize platform performance. 2. How We Use Your Information RideDosth uses the collected data to: • Facilitate Bookings: Connect passengers with available drivers for interstate routes. • Safety and Navigation: Provide real-time travel information and GPS tracking to both parties during a journey. • Communication: Send trip confirmations, updates, and customer support messages. • Payment Processing: Facilitate secure transactions between passengers and service providers. • Legal Compliance: Comply with interstate transport regulations and safety mandates. 3. Information Sharing and Disclosure We do not sell your personal data. However, we share information in the following scenarios: • Between Users: We share a passenger's name and location with the assigned driver, and a driver's name, vehicle details, and location with the passenger. • Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who assist with payment processing, cloud hosting, and map services. • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., for interstate border checks). 4. Data Retention We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, such as maintaining your account or complying with tax and transport record-keeping laws. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. 5. Security Measures RideDosth employs industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. This includes encryption for payment data and secure server protocols. While we strive for maximum security, no system is 100% foolproof. 6. Your Rights and Choices Depending on your location, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Request the correction of inaccurate information. • Request the deletion of your account and associated data. • Opt-out of promotional communications. You can manage these settings directly through your RideDosth app profile or by contacting our support team. 7. Location Tracking For Cab Drivers, real-time location tracking is essential for the core functionality of RideDosth. For Passengers, location access helps in setting pickup points. You can disable location services through your device settings, though this will significantly limit the app's functionality. 8. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes via the app or email. Your continued use of RideDosth after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. 9. Interstate Regulatory Compliance As an interstate travel aggregator, RideDosth operates across multiple state jurisdictions. To ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines and specific state transport department mandates: • Permit Verification: We collect and store digital copies of State/All India Tourist Permits from drivers to ensure legal passage across state lines. • Manifest Sharing: We may share passenger manifests (names and contact details) with regional transport authorities or at state border checkpoints when legally required for transit verification. • Digital Records: RideDosth maintains logs of interstate movement, including entry/exit timestamps and route data, for a period mandated by law to assist in safety audits or regulatory inquiries. 10. GST and Financial Data Handling To facilitate transparent billing and comply with the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act: • Tax Information: We collect GSTIN (GST Identification Numbers) from registered Cab Drivers and fleet owners. For passengers booking for business purposes, we collect company names and GST details to provide valid tax invoices. • Tax Collection at Source (TCS): In accordance with Indian tax laws (or equivalent regional regulations), RideDosth may be required to deduct Tax Collection at Source (TCS) on the taxable value of interstate supplies made through our platform. • Invoicing: We act as an intermediary for generating invoices. Data regarding the base fare, interstate tolls, state entry taxes, and applicable GST is stored securely and reported to relevant tax authorities during periodic filings. • Payment Data: While we do not store full credit card numbers, we retain transaction IDs and payment status to resolve disputes related to state taxes or "permit fees" often incurred during interstate travel. 11. Dispute Resolution: Tolls, Taxes, and Fees Given the complexities of interstate travel, RideDosth provides a structured mechanism for resolving financial and service disagreements: • State-Entry Taxes and Tolls: While RideDosth attempts to provide estimated toll and state-entry tax calculations, the actual amount paid at physical booths may vary. Passengers are responsible for reimbursing drivers for these costs unless explicitly included in a prepaid fare. In the event of a dispute, RideDosth will require a digital copy or photo of the official receipt to mediate the reimbursement. • "No-Show" and Cancellation Fees: To protect the interests of both parties, RideDosth may charge a cancellation fee if a passenger fails to arrive at the pickup point within the stipulated grace period or if a driver cancels after a certain timeframe. Data regarding cancellation patterns is monitored to prevent platform abuse. • Mediation Process: In case of a dispute regarding fare overcharges, vehicle quality, or service conduct, users can "Raise a Dispute" via the app within 24 hours of trip completion. RideDosth will review GPS logs, communication history, and uploaded receipts to reach a fair resolution. • Arbitration: If a dispute cannot be resolved through internal mediation, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the city where RideDosth is headquartered. 12. Emergency SOS and Safety Data Sharing The safety of our passengers and drivers is our highest priority. To provide a secure interstate travel environment: • SOS Trigger: If a user activates the in-app SOS button, RideDosth is authorized to immediately access the device’s real-time GPS location, even if the app is running in the background. • Data Broadcast: Upon an emergency trigger, we may automatically share your live location, contact details, vehicle information, and trip status with: o Local Law Enforcement and Highway Patrols. o Your designated Emergency Contacts. o Our 24/7 Safety Response Team. • Audio/Visual Recording: Where permitted by law, the app may record audio during an active SOS event to assist in investigations. This data is encrypted and only accessed for safety audits or legal evidence. 13. Terms of Service (ToS) Highlights To accompany your Privacy Policy, here are the core pillars of the RideDosth Terms of Service: • User Eligibility: Users must be 18+ to book.
